After a meteorite hits Japan, unleashing the lethal Apocalypse Virus, the chaos and anarchy it creates cost Shu his family and reduce him into a timid fearful shell of himself. His life changes after a chance encounter with the pretty pop star Inori, who introduces him to the King's Right Hand, a genetic mutation that allows him to reach into the hearts of mortals and turn them into weapons. This forces Shu into a crossfire between a clandestine government agency and Inori and the spirited rebel band Funeral Parlor, who both now want his newfound strength to change the world.
